Jimny Gen4 with Spotlights

Introduction

When it comes to enhancing visibility during nighttime off-road adventures, having reliable spotlights is crucial. Recently, I had the opportunity to test the Roar-X Bear-X 7-Inch Spotlights on my Jimny. Here’s a detailed review of my experience with these spotlights.

Installation and Setup

Installing the Bear-X 7-Inch Spotlights was straightforward, with the most challenging part being drilling through the bumper. The spotlights come with a wiring loom, making the wiring process plug-and-play. The loom is designed for larger rigs, so it’s quite long, but the lack of wiring instructions wasn’t an issue due to its plug-and-play nature. Within an hour, the spotlights were securely mounted and ready for use.

Ordering Process

Ordering the spotlights was a bit of a hassle since Roar-X doesn’t have a website. However, they were very responsive to my inquiries and provided fast delivery, which helped smooth over the initial frustration.

Design and Build Quality

The Bear-X 7-Inch Spotlights boast a robust and rugged design. Constructed with durable materials, these spotlights are built to withstand harsh off-road conditions. The housing is made from high-quality aluminium, providing excellent protection against impacts and ensuring long-lasting performance. Additionally, the spotlights are IP68 rated, meaning they are dustproof and waterproof, further enhancing their durability.

Performance and Brightness

The performance of the Bear-X spotlights is where they truly shine—literally. With a powerful 7-inch LED array, these spotlights deliver an impressive brightness of 10,000 lumens each. The light output is intense and provides a clear, focused beam that significantly improves nighttime visibility. Whether navigating through dense forests or traversing open trails, the Bear-X spotlights illuminate the path ahead with ease.

Customisability

One of the standout features of these spotlights is their customizability. I specifically wanted orange lights, and these spotlights came with orange covers, allowing me to switch between white and orange lights. They also feature Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), which add a cool aesthetic to my Jimny.

Beam Pattern and Range

The spotlights feature a concentrated beam pattern that offers an excellent balance between distance and width. The focused beam reaches far ahead, allowing for early detection of obstacles and potential hazards. The range is particularly beneficial for high-speed off-roading, providing ample time to react to any sudden changes in the terrain.

Weather Resistance and Durability

During my testing, the Bear-X spotlights were subjected to various weather conditions, including heavy rain and dusty trails. The IP68 rating held up well, with no signs of water ingress or performance degradation. The spotlights continued to function flawlessly, showcasing their resilience and reliability in challenging environments.

Conclusion

The Roar-X Bear-X 7-Inch Spotlights are a fantastic addition to any off-road vehicle. Their robust build quality, impressive brightness, customizability, and reliable performance make them a top choice for overlanders and off-road enthusiasts. Whether you’re tackling rugged trails or navigating through dense forests at night, these spotlights provide the visibility and confidence needed for a safe and enjoyable adventure.

Recommendation:

If you’re in the market for high-quality, durable, and powerful spotlights for your off-road vehicle, I highly recommend the Roar-X Bear-X 7-Inch Spotlights. Their performance and reliability are well worth the investment, ensuring you have the best visibility for all your nighttime adventures.
