About Peach Overlanding

Welcome to Peach Overlanding—I’m Mario, a 30-year-old South African overlander who’s turbo-charged my Suzuki Jimny JB74 into a rock-crawler monster that makes Hiluxes look like Sunday drivers.

About Mario & Luigi

I’m a laid-back South African kid with a heart condition, but that doesn’t stop me from living life to the fullest. Whether it’s tackling tough 4×4 trails or exploring the great unknown through overlanding, I’m all about pushing the limits and making every moment count. Adventure isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way of life. Join me as I navigate the wild terrains, defy the odds, and turn every challenge into a story worth telling.

The name Peach comes from Princess Peach in Super Mario, and since my name is Mario, it just fits perfectly.

I started this blog to share tips on modifying the Suzuki JB74 for off-roading and to document my adventures with this build. The idea for the blog came when I was searching for information about the Jimny and had to dig through endless forum pages to find what I needed. Now, I aim to make it easier for fellow enthusiasts by putting everything in one place.

Luigi (Official mascot & snack-stealer)

Luigi, my ever-enthusiastic Corgi co-pilot and Peach’s official mascot. When he’s not busy herding my tools (or stealing snacks), he’s curled up in the backseat—ears perked for every off-road bump and ready to bark at the slightest sight of a squirrel. From trial runs to tail-gate hangs, Luigi’s boundless energy and goofy grin remind us all that the best adventures are shared.

Why “Peach” Overlanding?

When I first rolled off the lot in my Suzuki Jimny JB74, I knew she deserved a name as bold as her attitude. As a lifelong Super Mario fan, it felt only fitting to christen her “Peach” – after the one and only Princess Peach who’s always up for wild adventures (and never afraid to get her hands dirty).

Like Peach in the Mushroom Kingdom, my Jimny has been on a journey of upgrades, rescues, and triumphs. From stock spec to turbocharged rock-crawler, she’s proved that small packages pack big personality. Plus, the soft peach-orange accents on my rig tie back to those classic Peach vibes, making every trail run feel like a power-up.

So here at Peach Overlanding, “Peach” isn’t just a name—it’s a promise of fearless adventure, playful spirit, and a community that’s game for anything.
